what is digital printing?
The words digital printing cover a wide range of subjects but essentially it means taking a file created on a computer and printing directly onto the paper (or other medium) from the file without the need for printing plates.

The traditional method of printing involves the preparation of plates of one kind or another which are then put on a press. This is very cost effective on long runs - for runs over about 2000 sheets. Digital printing is nearly always more cost effective for runs under 1000 pages.
Isn't our office printer good enough?
For many printing jobs the office printer is just fine - but to produce a really good finish or if you need faithful colour reproductions then the more expensive commercial machines will produce better results. We can also fold and staple brochures directly on the machine saving you time and energy.

It is important that high quality photographs and graphics are incorporated into the pdf file as digital printing uses a much higher resolution than you see on your computer monitor.
If you cannot produce this type of file, we can accept Microsoft Word (but not MS Works) and Microsoft Publisher. However, a hard copy must accompany the file as some data or fonts can be corrupted during the transfer process. Occasionally time is required to be spent on your file which will result in a graphic design charge. We will advise you of this before proceeding.
